Rev’d Nick and Naomi Webb, together with their 3 young boys began Walking Church within the beautiful Purbeck Hills Benefice in Dorset back in 2020 in the midst of the Coronavirus pandemic. Although the vision had been held for longer, it was during this difficult point that it seemed to make absolute sense to begin meeting as a church community both outside, and whilst enjoying a walk. All ages can meet together to enjoy conversation, fresh air and exercise, reflection, prayer and some kind of outside craft activity. Walking church offers a variation on this theme every time we meet - whatever the weather!
We are lucky enough to live within the Purbeck hills and Jurassic coastline, so offering a variety of places to walk isn’t an issue! But, we do try to begin each walk from a church building within the area as a point to focus our act of worship at the beginning and the end. Our community has grown and continues to welcome all who want to join us.
